Kevin Aranibar is a photographer and visual artist born and raised in New York City. Aranibar’s work evinces a sharp eye for the points where forces that have shaped his life and practice intersect. Experiences of religion, gentrification, sexuality, displacement, masculinity and cultural identity meet in his images. For Over The Fence, Aranibar reclaimed the front door to his erstwhile home in Long Island City after its demolition. More than a relic of a house, the door functions as a tangible link to formative adolescent anxieties Aranibar depicts in photographs that situate friends, strangers and the artist himself as characters in a non-linear narrative. Aranibar holds a BFA in Photography from Parsons School of Design. His work has been featured in Vice Magazine and Metal Magazine and shown at Milk Gallery, The Bushwick Collective 5th Anniversary Gallery Show and Rubber Factory. He lives in Queens.
